National Review Online has a great article entitled, "Our 2009 Chickens and Their 2010 Roost." Please left click your mouse cursor on the aforementioned link to review this important entry. The only thing I can possibly add is what St. Paul stated in Galatians 6:7-8.
"Make no mistake: God is not mocked, for a person will reap only what he sows because the one who sows for his flesh will reap corruption from the flesh, but the one who sows for the spirit will reap eternal life from the spirit."
Thomas Jefferson and Benjamin Franklin explained this a little differently, but the meaning is the same:
"People get the government they deserve" and "Only a virtuous people are capable of freedom. As nations become more corrupt and vicious, they have more need of masters."
