Address of Pope Benedict XVI to the Bishops of NYS

Folks,

Recently the Bishops of the State of New York (whose Governor is that pro-abortionist, pro-sodomy faux Catholic Andy Cuomo) visited Pope Benedict XVI ad limina Apostolorum. Our Holy Father's address to these Bishops (especially Bishop Hubbard of the Diocese of Albany who officiated at Andy Cuomo's inaugural Mass and who authorized the distribution of heroin needles to addicts throughout the city of Albany using the donations of the faithful) is most noteworthy:

ADDRESS OF HIS HOLINESS BENEDICT XVI TO THE BISHOPS FROM THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA ON THEIR "AD LIMINA" VISIT

A few excerpts bear discussion:

(1) The Pope directly confronts the scandal and sin of sexual abuse of minors by members of the clergy.

"I wished to acknowledge personally the suffering inflicted on the victims and the honest efforts made both to ensure the safety of our children and to deal appropriately and transparently with allegations as they arise."

Every Bishop sitting before and listening to the Pope should feel not just embarrassed, but ashamed to have allowed homosexual pedophile clerics to wreak such havoc and mayhem. It doesn't matter that the incidence of homosexual perversion in public schools or among sports coaches in Pennsylvania and Syracuse, NY exceeds on a percentage basis anything committed within the Church. What does matter is that Satan's infiltration ad infestation has for too long not been exorcised from the Church in America.

(2) The Pope directly confronts the need for evangelization.

"A second, equally important, purpose of my Pastoral Visit was to summon the Church in America to recognize, in the light of a dramatically changing social and religious landscape, the urgency and demands of a new evangelization."

Baptists, Pentecostals, Mormons, Jehovah Witnesses and others put us to shame when it comes to evangelizing. Catholics are downright either afraid or ashamed to speak of their faith in public, or perhaps they simply don't know the faith. If that is the case, then the Bishops have no one else to blame for that than themselves and their ingratiation with the liberal left and the false gospel of social justice, the common good and peace at any price at the expense of preaching the authentic Gospel of conversion and repentance from the pulpit.

(3) The Pope voices concern for the continuation of democracy.

"I consider it significant, however, that there is also an increased sense of concern on the part of many men and women, whatever their religious or political views, for the future of our democratic societies. They see a troubling breakdown in the intellectual, cultural and moral foundations of social life, and a growing sense of dislocation and insecurity, especially among the young, in the face of wide-ranging societal changes."

I disagree with our Holy Father with respect to the use of the word "democracy." This is THE cause of the failure of modern civilization: two wolves and one sheep voting on what's for dinner, in this case the corpses of 60 million aborted babies in these United States since Roe v Wade was decided on by SCOTUS in 1973. But we should give Pope Benedict XVI the benefit of the doubt: he likely means "our free societies" vice "our democratic societies" for a democracy (dictatorship by a simple majority) is by definition enslaving. In this sense, he is 100% correct. The intellectual, cultural and moral foundations of social life are breaking down. The reason is simple: the destruction of the pillar of the Church. Indeed, society is held up by three pillars: a government limited by that contract with the people called a Constitution, a free market where too big to fail is simply too big and must fail, and a Church that provides the moral guidance for the behavior of both government and the free market. When any one pillar cracks and crumbles, that society is doomed. And when the pillar to fail is the moral pillar, then great is that society's demise. As the Pope characterizes it, there is a growing sense of dislocation and insecurity, especially among the young, in the face of wide-ranging societal changes.

(4) The solution that the Pope points to is, as always, that inward renewal which Christ Himself urged upon all of us.

"As with all spiritual crises, whether of individuals or communities, we know that the ultimate answer can only be born of a searching, critical and ongoing self-assessment and conversion in the light of Christ’s truth. Only through such interior renewal will we be able to discern and meet the spiritual needs of our age with the ageless truth of the Gospel."

The answer? Repent, for the Kingdom of Heaven is at hand. This reminds me of the story of the Centurion's sick servant in Matthew 8:5-11 in yesterday's Scripture readings. Verses 12 and 13 were sadly omitted, but I have reproduced them below because we must be reminded that the alternative to what the Pope has admonished on us is to "...be driven out into the outer darkness, where there will be wailing and grinding of teeth."

When Jesus entered Capernaum,
a centurion approached him and appealed to him, saying,
"Lord, my servant is lying at home paralyzed, suffering dreadfully."
He said to him, "I will come and cure him."
The centurion said in reply,
"Lord, I am not worthy to have you enter under my roof;
only say the word and my servant will be healed.
For I too am a man subject to authority,
with soldiers subject to me.
And I say to one, "Go," and he goes;
and to another, "Come here," and he comes;
and to my slave, "Do this," and he does it."
When Jesus heard this, he was amazed and said to those following him,
"Amen, I say to you, in no one in Israel have I found such faith.
I say to you, many will come from the east and the west,
and will recline with Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob
at the banquet in the Kingdom of heaven."
but the children of the kingdom
will be driven out into the outer darkness,
where there will be wailing and grinding of teeth.”
And Jesus said to the centurion,
“You may go; as you have believed,
let it be done for you.”
And at that very hour [his] servant was healed.

THANKSGIVING DAY 1789

The Founding Fathers of these United States were not atheists, pagans or Muslims. They were not fleabaggers, Occupiers or liberals. They were not communists, socialists or fascists. They were Christians and patriots, and regardless of their respective religious denominations, they gave thanks to Jesus Christ, King of kings and Lord of lords.

A Message to Barack Hussein Obama

Today's Scripture reading from the Old Testament is Daniel 5:1-6, 13-14, 16-17, 23-28. This surely is a message to that godless man of sin, Barack Hussein Obama:

King Belshazzar gave a great banquet for a thousand of his lords,
with whom he drank.
Under the influence of the wine,
he ordered the gold and silver vessels
which Nebuchadnezzar, his father,
had taken from the temple in Jerusalem,
to be brought in so that the king, his lords,
his wives and his entertainers might drink from them.
When the gold and silver vessels
taken from the house of God in Jerusalem had been brought in,
and while the king, his lords, his wives and his entertainers
were drinking wine from them,
they praised their gods of gold and silver,
bronze and iron, wood and stone.

Daniel answered the king:
"You may keep your gifts, or give your presents to someone else;
but the writing I will read for you, O king,
and tell you what it means.
You have rebelled against the Lord of heaven.
You had the vessels of his temple brought before you,
so that you and your nobles, your wives and your entertainers,
might drink wine from them;
and you praised the gods of silver and gold,
bronze and iron, wood and stone,
that neither see nor hear nor have intelligence.
But the God in whose hand is your life breath
and the whole course of your life, you did not glorify.
By him were the wrist and hand sent, and the writing set down.

"This is the writing that was inscribed:
MENE, TEKEL, and PERES.
These words mean:
MENE, God has numbered your kingdom and put an end to it;
TEKEL, you have been weighed on the scales and found wanting;
PERES, your kingdom has been divided and given to the Medes and Persians."

When the Constitution Doesn't Apply

Judge Andrew Napolitano, formerly of the Superior Court of New Jersey, asks the following questions (and more) in his essay, "When the Constitution Doesn't Apply," at Crisis Magazine.

• What if the whole purpose of the Constitution was to limit the government?
• What if you needed a license from the government to speak, to assemble or to protest the government?
• What if the people had no rights except those the government chose to let them have?
• What if the government could write any law, regulate any behavior and tax any event, the Constitution be damned?

Please read the rest. Without Jesus Christ as King, Lawgiver and Judge, Constitutional Republics denegerate into National Democracies which in turn degenerate into Socialist Dictatorships. As Thomas Jefferson said so long ago:

"Experience hath shewn, that even under the best forms (of government) those entrusted with power have, in time, and by slow operations, perverted it into tyranny."

Thus is the government of Barack Hussein Obama, the man of sin and depravity.

The General Judgment: All Will Be Made Clear

I had intended to post a link to this sermon on my blogsite, but had forgotten. Today my friend Jim McCrea sent me a link to the same, not knowing that I had already listened to it. But I am grateful for this unintended reminder. As things continue to unravel with the ascendency of godless liberalism and atheism, we can in certain hope be consoled that all will be made clear on Judgment Day.

A Rolling Stone

I don't have much to say beyond what Father Lauer points out in his homily. Judgement day is coming. Father Lauer notes in his homily that just as no stone was left one on top of another in the magnificent second Jewish Temple (as Jesus had fortold in Luke 21 would happen 40 years later under Roman General Titus), so also was no stone left one on top of another with the destruction of the World Trade Center. I didn't make that comparison - Father Lauer did. Let us consider why he made that comparison:

At the Constitutional Convention of 1787, James Madison proposed the plan to divide our central government into three branches. He discovered this model of government from the Perfect Governor, as he read Isaiah 33:22: “For the LORD is our judge, the LORD is our lawgiver, the LORD is our king; He will save us.” Hence the current model of the US Government: Supreme Court, Congress, President. But we as a nation have rejected the Lord Jesus Christ as King, establishing in His place that godless man of sin, the Obamanation of Desolation. So Jesus will become the Stone that destroys the nations of this world as prophesied in the reading from chapter 2 in Daniel. Again, Father Lauer points this out in his homily. Thus we have 2nd Peter 3:1-13 to which (again) Father Lauer refers in his homily. God will NOT tolerate atheism, liberalism, progressivism and all the murder of unborn babies, sexual perversion, and wicked idolatry that they imply.

1 Beloved, I now write to you this second epistle (in both of which I stir up your pure minds by way of reminder), 2 that you may be mindful of the words which were spoken before by the holy prophets, and of the commandment of us, the apostles of the Lord and Savior, 3 knowing this first: that scoffers will come in the last days, walking according to their own lusts, 4 and saying, “Where is the promise of His coming? For since the fathers fell asleep, all things continue as they were from the beginning of creation.” 5 For this they willfully forget: that by the word of God the heavens were of old, and the earth standing out of water and in the water, 6 by which the world that then existed perished, being flooded with water. 7 But the heavens and the earth which are now preserved by the same word, are reserved for fire until the day of judgment and perdition of ungodly men.

8 But, beloved, do not forget this one thing, that with the Lord one day is as a thousand years, and a thousand years as one day. 9 The Lord is not slack concerning His promise, as some count slackness, but is longsuffering toward us, not willing that any should perish but that all should come to repentance.

10 But the day of the Lord will come as a thief in the night, in which the heavens will pass away with a great noise, and the elements will melt with fervent heat; both the earth and the works that are in it will be burned up. 11 Therefore, since all these things will be dissolved, what manner of persons ought you to be in holy conduct and godliness, 12 looking for and hastening the coming of the day of God, because of which the heavens will be dissolved, being on fire, and the elements will melt with fervent heat? 13 Nevertheless we, according to His promise, look for new heavens and a new earth in which righteousness dwells.

Why Vote Republican?

The American Catholic blog site had an excellent entry the other day entitled, "Why Do Those Bitter Clingers Vote Republican?" It quoted the following paragraphs from Lee Siegel's essay, "What Occupy Harvard Should Tell Liberal Elite Parents on Thanksgiving," at The Daily Beast:

The man you think is a “sucker” because he votes for Republican candidates who don’t seem to give a hoot about him will vote for them every time. He looks at you, the crowd of The-Fix-Is-Always-In, and he casts his lot with the crowd of wealth and initiative.

You see, Mom and Dad, they don’t lie about his prospects. They tell him that he has to sink or swim. They don’t disrespect his willpower by promising that government will make life easier for him. They tell him that they respect his individuality. They tell him straight out what you, the liberal elite, know to be true but will never say. They tell him that life in America is winner-take-all, and that they are the people who will let him keep what he has. They tell him that his religion, his wife’s capacity to reproduce, his children—whether they are “successful” or not—are his treasure. They tell him that they don’t care if he is a person of modest ambition, little sophistication, and humble means. What they value is his capacity to change his own life.

What you tell him is that he should put his life in your hands. Yet you scorn his religion. You mock his faith in the sacredness of conception. You deride his belief in family. You tell him that his love for hunting makes him a murderer, and that his terror at being economically displaced makes him a xenophobe and a racist. Then you emasculate his hope for the future by telling him that if his ship comes in—that dream of a ship that makes the grinding disappointment of daily life worth living through—you’ll help yourself to a big slice of it. And you expect him to believe your rhetoric about fairness and equality when, all the while, you are accusing him of gullibility in his politics and bad faith toward the least fortunate of his fellow citizens. When, all the while, you are living untouched by your own policies. When you are cushioned against life’s hardness, not by government, but by simply knowing other people in your class. You expect him to buy your talk about equitable distribution of wealth when you are sailing through tax loopholes off into the sunset. For this man, his emotions make all the rational sense in the world.

Christ the King

Folks,

In honor of the Feast of Christ the King which we celebrated this last Sunday, Pope Pius XI issued the encyclical Quas Primas on December 11, 1925. While this letter is applicable for all times and places, paragraphs 18, 19, 24, 31 and 32 are particularly applicable for today's world-wide situation and specifically the Presidency, Congress and Supreme Court of these United States.

18. Thus the empire of our Redeemer embraces all men. To use the words of Our immortal predecessor, Pope Leo XIII: "His empire includes not only Catholic nations, not only baptized persons who, though of right belonging to the Church, have been led astray by error, or have been cut off from her by schism, but also all those who are outside the Christian faith; so that truly the whole of mankind is subject to the power of Jesus Christ."[28] Nor is there any difference in this matter between the individual and the family or the State; for all men, whether collectively or individually, are under the dominion of Christ. In him is the salvation of the individual, in him is the salvation of society. "Neither is there salvation in any other, for there is no other name under heaven given to men whereby we must be saved."[29] He is the author of happiness and true prosperity for every man and for every nation. "For a nation is happy when its citizens are happy. What else is a nation but a number of men living in concord?"[30] If, therefore, the rulers of nations wish to preserve their authority, to promote and increase the prosperity of their countries, they will not neglect the public duty of reverence and obedience to the rule of Christ. What We said at the beginning of Our Pontificate concerning the decline of public authority, and the lack of respect for the same, is equally true at the present day. "With God and Jesus Christ," we said, "excluded from political life, with authority derived not from God but from man, the very basis of that authority has been taken away, because the chief reason of the distinction between ruler and subject has been eliminated. The result is that human society is tottering to its fall, because it has no longer a secure and solid foundation."[31]

19 When once men recognize, both in private and in public life, that Christ is King, society will at last receive the great blessings of real liberty, well-ordered discipline, peace and harmony. Our Lord's regal office invests the human authority of princes and rulers with a religious significance; it ennobles the citizen's duty of obedience. It is for this reason that St. Paul, while bidding wives revere Christ in their husbands, and slaves respect Christ in their masters, warns them to give obedience to them not as men, but as the vicegerents of Christ; for it is not meet that men redeemed by Christ should serve their fellow-men. "You are bought with a price; be not made the bond-slaves of men."[32] If princes and magistrates duly elected are filled with the persuasion that they rule, not by their own right, but by the mandate and in the place of the Divine King, they will exercise their authority piously and wisely, and they will make laws and administer them, having in view the common good and also the human dignity of their subjects. The result will be a stable peace and tranquillity, for there will be no longer any cause of discontent. Men will see in their king or in their rulers men like themselves, perhaps unworthy or open to criticism, but they will not on that account refuse obedience if they see reflected in them the authority of Christ God and Man. Peace and harmony, too, will result; for with the spread and the universal extent of the kingdom of Christ men will become more and more conscious of the link that binds them together, and thus many conflicts will be either prevented entirely or at least their bitterness will be diminished.

24. If We ordain that the whole Catholic world shall revere Christ as King, We shall minister to the need of the present day, and at the same time provide an excellent remedy for the plague which now infects society. We refer to the plague of anti-clericalism, its errors and impious activities. This evil spirit, as you are well aware, Venerable Brethren, has not come into being in one day; it has long lurked beneath the surface. The empire of Christ over all nations was rejected. The right which the Church has from Christ himself, to teach mankind, to make laws, to govern peoples in all that pertains to their eternal salvation, that right was denied. Then gradually the religion of Christ came to be likened to false religions and to be placed ignominiously on the same level with them. It was then put under the power of the state and tolerated more or less at the whim of princes and rulers. Some men went even further, and wished to set up in the place of God's religion a natural religion consisting in some instinctive affection of the heart. There were even some nations who thought they could dispense with God, and that their religion should consist in impiety and the neglect of God. The rebellion of individuals and states against the authority of Christ has produced deplorable consequences. We lamented these in the Encyclical Ubi arcano; we lament them today: the seeds of discord sown far and wide; those bitter enmities and rivalries between nations, which still hinder so much the cause of peace; that insatiable greed which is so often hidden under a pretense of public spirit and patriotism, and gives rise to so many private quarrels; a blind and immoderate selfishness, making men seek nothing but their own comfort and advantage, and measure everything by these; no peace in the home, because men have forgotten or neglect their duty; the unity and stability of the family undermined; society in a word, shaken to its foundations and on the way to ruin. We firmly hope, however, that the feast of the Kingship of Christ, which in future will be yearly observed, may hasten the return of society to our loving Savior. It would be the duty of Catholics to do all they can to bring about this happy result. Many of these, however, have neither the station in society nor the authority which should belong to those who bear the torch of truth. This state of things may perhaps be attributed to a certain slowness and timidity in good people, who are reluctant to engage in conflict or oppose but a weak resistance; thus the enemies of the Church become bolder in their attacks. But if the faithful were generally to understand that it behooves them ever to fight courageously under the banner of Christ their King, then, fired with apostolic zeal, they would strive to win over to their Lord those hearts that are bitter and estranged from him, and would valiantly defend his rights.

31. When we pay honor to the princely dignity of Christ, men will doubtless be reminded that the Church, founded by Christ as a perfect society, has a natural and inalienable right to perfect freedom and immunity from the power of the state; and that in fulfilling the task committed to her by God of teaching, ruling, and guiding to eternal bliss those who belong to the kingdom of Christ, she cannot be subject to any external power. The State is bound to extend similar freedom to the orders and communities of religious of either sex, who give most valuable help to the Bishops of the Church by laboring for the extension and the establishment of the kingdom of Christ. By their sacred vows they fight against the threefold concupiscence of the world; by making profession of a more perfect life they render the holiness which her divine Founder willed should be a mark and characteristic of his Church more striking and more conspicuous in the eyes of all.

32. Nations will be reminded by the annual celebration of this feast that not only private individuals but also rulers and princes are bound to give public honor and obedience to Christ. It will call to their minds the thought of the last judgment, wherein Christ, who has been cast out of public life, despised, neglected and ignored, will most severely avenge these insults; for his kingly dignity demands that the State should take account of the commandments of God and of Christian principles, both in making laws and in administering justice, and also in providing for the young a sound moral education.

An atheist group is clashing with U.S. Marines at Camp Pendleton in California. The group, the Military Association of Atheists and Freethinkers (MAAF), is demanding that a cross that was put up on the base to commemorate fallen soldiers be removed.

I am getting sick and tired of these godless reprobate atheists shoving their sexual perversions and murders down our throats. If they wish to be atheist, or sodomizers, or adulterers, or fornicators in the privacy of their own homes, hidden in the closet from decent society, then so be it. It's none of my business what these godless perverts do in seclusion. But when they demand that we rid this nation of its Christian heritage, then perhaps it's time we let the Marines open fire. There is Biblical precedence:

You see, folks, it's going to come down to this: the atheists are going to martyr us, or we are going to have to stomp them out of existence. That's why 1st Maccabees 2:40-41 states:

And they determined in that day, saying: Whosoever shall come up against us to fight on the sabbath day, we will fight against him: and we will not all die, as our brethren that were slain in the secret places.

I think we're coming to civil war. I don't want civil war. I don't advocate violence. I don't want any reader to take the law into his own hands and start opening fire. But the atheist liberal progressives will stop at nothing less. We have to prepare ourselves for the inevitable. These same atheists under Stalin, Hitler and Mao murdered collectively upwards of 100 million people, and the first thing such atheist dictators always did was to disarm the people. Africae Munus

Pope Benedict XVI gave the Apostolic Exhortation "Africae Munus" (meaning "Africa's Duty") on November 19, 2011 as part of his trip to Benin, Africa, an area overrun with witchcraft, voodoo and Islamic fanaticism. Paragraphs 92 through 94 state the following:

1. Traditional African religions

92. The Church lives daily alongside the followers of traditional African religions. The problem of “dual affiliation” – to Christianity and to the traditional African religions – remains a challenge. Through profound catechesis and inculturation, the Church in Africa needs to help people to discover the fullness of Gospel values. It is important to determine the profound meaning of these practices of witchcraft by identifying the many theological, social and pastoral implications of this scourge.

2. Islam

94. The Synod Fathers highlighted the complexity of the Muslim presence on the African continent. In some countries, good relations exist between Christians and Muslims; in others, the local Christians are merely second-class citizens, and Catholics from abroad, religious and lay, have difficulty obtaining visas and residence permits; in some, there is insufficient distinction between the religious and political spheres, while in others, finally, there is a climate of hostility. I call upon the Church, in every situation, to persist in esteem for Muslims, who “worship God who is one, living and subsistent; merciful and almighty, the creator of heaven and earth, who has also spoken to humanity.” If all of us who believe in God desire to promote reconciliation, justice and peace, we must work together to banish every form of discrimination, intolerance and religious fundamentalism. In her social apostolate, the Church does not make religious distinctions. She comes to the help of those in need, be they Christian, Muslim or animist. In this way she bears witness to the love of God, creator of all, and she invites the followers of other religions to demonstrate respect and to practise reciprocity in a spirit of esteem. I ask the whole Church, through patient dialogue with Muslims, to seek juridical and practical recognition of religious freedom, so that every citizen in Africa may enjoy not only the right to choose his religion freely and to engage in worship, but also the right to freedom of conscience. Religious freedom is the road to peace.

There are only a few things to say about this. First, Jesus said in John 14:6, "I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me."

Second, Jesus also states in Matthew 7:13-14, "Enter by the narrow gate; for wide is the gate and broad is the way that leads to destruction, and there are many who go in by it. Because narrow is the gate and difficult is the way which leads to life, and there are few who find it."

Jesus never sought equality with false religions. Rather, He put false religions in their proper place and openly declared His supremacy.

Third, Jesus did not state that religious freedom is the road to peace; rather, Jesus declared that He is THE road to peace, for He states in John 14:27, "Peace I leave with you, My peace I give to you; not as the world gives do I give to you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid."

Fourth, as for compromise with this world, Jesus declared:

"I came to send fire on the earth, and how I wish it were already kindled! But I have a baptism to be baptized with, and how distressed I am till it is accomplished! Do you suppose that I came to give peace on earth? I tell you, not at all, but rather division. For from now on five in one house will be divided: three against two, and two against three. Father will be divided against son and son against father, mother against daughter and daughter against mother, mother-in-law against her daughter-in-law and daughter-in-law against her mother-in-law."

Saints were martyred in the Coliseum for these principles of the supremacy of Christianity.

A Repeated Summary on Social Justice

I posted this on Facebook as a response to someone's comment. It bears repeating.

When Jesus gave his speech about feeding the hungry, giving drink to the thirsty, caring for the sick, etc. in Matthew 25:31-46, his audience was the disciples, that is to say, the Body of Christ. We are called as part of our penance (if yo...u will) to do good for others for the sake of the Kingdom of God. Every time we abdicate our responsibility and evade our accountability to do this our sacred duty onto nanny govt, we sacrifice on the alter of political expediency our citizenship in the Kingdom of Heaven and our adoption as sons and daughters of the great King. It is NOT the job of govt to help the poor. That's OUR job as Christians.

That being said, let's remember John 12 where Mary (sister of Martha) was anointing Jesus' feet with perfumed oil costing 300 denarii, a year's wage. Judas Iscariot saw this and said that the oil could have been sold and the proceeds given to the poor. And what does Scripture say right afterwards? Jesus pointed out that we'll always have the poor with us, and Mary did this in preparation for his burial, for we would not always have him. Furthermore, the writer of the Gospel goes on to explain that the REAL reason Judas advocated selling the oil wasn't because he cared a darn thing for the poor. He was like every liberal Democrat politician today (and not a few RINOs) who has spiritually succeeded him. He said this because he used to steal from the disciples' purse. Read it. That's what verse 6 says: Judas was a thief (just like Obama and all the rest).

One other thing: remember the feeding of the 5000 in John 6. Afterwards Jesus and his disciples crossed the Lake to Capernaum on the other side. The crowd awoke the next morning and saw Jesus gone, so they followed on foot. When they caught up with him, they asked why he departed. What did Jesus say? It's in verses 26 and 27: "Most assuredly, I say to you, you seek Me, not because you saw the signs, but because you ate of the loaves and were filled. Do not labor for the food which perishes, but for the food which endures to everlasting life, which the Son of Man will give you, because God the Father has set His seal on Him."

The social justice types in the Church have reduced the Gospel message to feeding bellies. That is NOT the goal. Jesus said so. The goal is saving souls from Satan and hell. Yes, as Christians we must care for the poor - back to Matthew 25 again. And yes, it's nigh unto impossible to attend to one's spiritual needs when one has an empty stomach. That's why Jesus fed the 5000 with food first in John 6. But instead of paying attention to their spiritual condition once their bellies were full, they expected another free handout and Jesus said "No!" That began the Bread of Life discourse.

This isn't confusing at all once one reads and studies what is plain as day in Sacred Scripture.

When Obama Comes Knocking, What Will You Do?

Yesterday's Scripture reading from the Old Testament, 1st Maccabees 2:15-19, is so very prescient. The pagan Seleucid king demanded that faithful Jews bow before his false gods and offer sacrifice. A hero by the name of Mattathias refused. But a traitor in their midst - perhaps someone like today's liberal democrat pseudo-Catholics - went up to offer sacrifice to the pagan Greek gods (Zeus, Hera, Athena, Artemis, Apollo, etc.). This was open provacation, to which our hero promptly responded. Now before I reprint below the whole record of what happened, let me warn the reader that this is NOT an advocacy for violence. But it is an advocacy that you ask yourself this question: "What will I do if I am asked under the guise of a diversity training program at work to give approval to the pseudo-right to chose to abort babies or the pseudo-right of sodomizers to marry?" We know what Mattathias would have done.

The officers of the king in charge of enforcing the apostasy
came to the city of Modein to organize the sacrifices.
Many of Israel joined them,
but Mattathias and his sons gathered in a group apart.
Then the officers of the king addressed Mattathias:
"You are a leader, an honorable and great man in this city,
supported by sons and kin.
Come now, be the first to obey the king's command,
as all the Gentiles and the men of Judah
and those who are left in Jerusalem have done.
Then you and your sons shall be numbered among the King's Friends,
and shall be enriched with silver and gold and many gifts."
But Mattathias answered in a loud voice:
"Although all the Gentiles in the king's realm obey him,
so that each forsakes the religion of his fathers
and consents to the king's orders,
yet I and my sons and my kin
will keep to the covenant of our fathers.
God forbid that we should forsake the law and the commandments.
We will not obey the words of the king
nor depart from our religion in the slightest degree."

As he finished saying these words,
a certain Jew came forward in the sight of all
to offer sacrifice on the altar in Modein
according to the king's order.
When Mattathias saw him, he was filled with zeal;
his heart was moved and his just fury was aroused;
he sprang forward and killed him upon the altar.
At the same time, he also killed the messenger of the king
who was forcing them to sacrifice,
and he tore down the altar.
Thus he showed his zeal for the law,
just as Phinehas did with Zimri, son of Salu.

Then Mattathias went through the city shouting,
"Let everyone who is zealous for the law
and who stands by the covenant follow after me!"
Thereupon he fled to the mountains with his sons,
leaving behind in the city all their possessions.
Many who sought to live according to righteousness and religious custom
went out into the desert to settle there.

General Electric - er, Government Electric: Perverted, Corrupt, Ruthless and Godless

Last evening on Facebook my older brother reminded me of a news article from the Weekly Standard that reports, "GE Filed 57,000-Page Tax Return, Paid No Taxes on $14 Billion in Profits."

General Electric, one of the largest corporations in America, filed a whopping 57,000-page federal tax return earlier this year but didn't pay taxes on $14 billion in profits. The return, which was filed electronically, would have been 19 feet high if printed out and stacked...."GE was able to utilize all of these various loopholes, all of these various deductions--it's legal," Ryan said. Nine billion dollars of GE's profits came overseas, outside the jurisdiction of U.S. tax law. GE wasn't taxed on $5 billion in U.S. profits because it utilized numerous deductions and tax credits, including tax breaks for investments in low-income housing, green energy, research and development, as well as depreciation of property.

During GE's ownership of NBC, the television news journalists of that broadcasting network worked tooth and nail to get Obama elected. Then after his election, GE's CEO Jeff Immelt is appointed Obama's job czar while he exports GE jobs in the US to Asia, and GE itself reaps a virtual windfall by not having to pay US taxes. This is called croney capitalism or corporate socialism. It is NOT free enterprise. It is putrid corruption from the vomitorium of political excess. What makes this all the worse is that GE Health Care (which Immelt headed before becoming the CEO) has donated vast sums of money to pro-abortion "social service" organizations, and GE openly supports the filth of homosexual sodomy in the work place through its diversity support groups. As a Presbyterian who supposedly "knows" the Bible, Jeff Immelt certainly knows better and will be held to account (as we all will) at the Judgment Seat of Christ Jesus on the Last Day.

There is, however, one curious thing. Why don't the fleabaggers in the OWS movement go to GE facilities and have a sit-in there? Could it possibly be that since GE is godlessly liberal democrat, it's on the side of the Marxists since it is in effect "Government Electric?"

PS, Yes, I know Wikipedia says Immelt is Republican. That wasn't the case earlier this year. Furthermore, if he is a member of the GOP, then he is a RINO, which means that we should go on safari hunting! ;-) I speak figuratively lest any nit wit out there in cyber space misinterpret humor as advocacy for violence.

I do NOT advocate violence against the regime in charge. Soon enough will come the day in this country when the liberals will demand the blood of Christians and Jews just as today Muslims in the Middle East demand the blood of Christians and Jews. We will then have all the violence that can be borne and more besides. We must let God chose to end the life of Barack Hussein Obama in a time and place that He deems appropriate. "Vengeance is Mine, I will repay, saith the Lord." Hebrews 10:30.

Our attitude must be that of the holy woman of God in 2nd Maccabees 7:1, 20-31 from today's Scripture reading in the Old Testament. She did not regard the temporal vanity of this life as something precious to be held onto, but looked forward to meeting her Lord and God in the next life where people like Obama, Hitler, Stalin, Robespierre, Nero, Caligula, and Antiochus IV Epiphanes do not have residence and can no longer torture and murder the innocent, being themselves under the torture of the second death which is hell itself. Indeed, the last verse in today's excerpt from the Old Testament is quite specific: "But you, who have contrived every kind of affliction for the Hebrews, will not escape the hands of God." There are consequences for murdering unborn babies and sanctifying homosexual filth.

It happened that seven brothers with their mother were arrested
and tortured with whips and scourges by the king,
to force them to eat pork in violation of God's law.

Most admirable and worthy of everlasting remembrance was the mother,
who saw her seven sons perish in a single day,
yet bore it courageously because of her hope in the Lord.

Eleazar, one of the foremost scribes,
a man of advanced age and noble appearance,
was being forced to open his mouth to eat pork.
But preferring a glorious death to a life of defilement,
he spat out the meat,
and went forward of his own accord to the instrument of torture,
as people ought to do who have the courage to reject the food
which it is unlawful to taste even for love of life.
Those in charge of that unlawful ritual meal took the man aside privately,
because of their long acquaintance with him,
and urged him to bring meat of his own providing,
such as he could legitimately eat,
and to pretend to be eating some of the meat of the sacrifice
prescribed by the king;
in this way he would escape the death penalty,
and be treated kindly because of their old friendship with him.
But Eleazar made up his mind in a noble manner,
worthy of his years, the dignity of his advanced age,
the merited distinction of his gray hair,
and of the admirable life he had lived from childhood;
and so he declared that above all
he would be loyal to the holy laws given by God.

He told them to send him at once
to the abode of the dead, explaining:
"At our age it would be unbecoming to make such a pretense;
many young people would think the ninety-year-old Eleazar
had gone over to an alien religion.
Should I thus pretend for the sake of a brief moment of life,
they would be led astray by me,
while I would bring shame and dishonor on my old age.
Even if, for the time being, I avoid the punishment of men,
I shall never, whether alive or dead,
escape the hands of the Almighty.
Therefore, by manfully giving up my life now,
I will prove myself worthy of my old age,
and I will leave to the young a noble example
of how to die willingly and generously
for the revered and holy laws."

Eleazar spoke thus,
and went immediately to the instrument of torture.
Those who shortly before had been kindly disposed,
now became hostile toward him because what he had said
seemed to them utter madness.
When he was about to die under the blows,
he groaned and said:
"The Lord in his holy knowledge knows full well that,
although I could have escaped death,
I am not only enduring terrible pain in my body from this scourging,
but also suffering it with joy in my soul
because of my devotion to him."
This is how he died,
leaving in his death a model of courage
and an unforgettable example of virtue
not only for the young but for the whole nation.

An Explanation - Again

I changed comment moderation this morning from "only blog members" to "only Google IDs". It is now changed back. The muzzling of liberals will continue. Those who know me already have my e-mail address or access to my Facebook web page; I will respond to requests for comment publication delivered via those resources. But I won't allow liberals even the time of day here at this blog site. They have ABC, CBS, CNN, NBC, NPR and PBS.

Something that these liberal commenters to this blog site can't seem to get through their thick skulls is this: if we sin and fail to repent, changing our ways, then we will go to hell to burn forever and ever. That is why Revelation 21:8 states:

But the cowardly, unbelieving, abominable, murderers, sexually immoral, sorcerers, idolaters, and all liars shall have their part in the lake which burns with fire and brimstone, which is the second death.

But that's not what God wants. John 3:16-17 states:

For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life. For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but that the world through Him might be saved.

Ezekiel 18:30-32 explains it in this way:

"Therefore I will judge you, O house of Israel, every one according to his ways," says the Lord GOD. "Repent, and turn from all your transgressions, so that iniquity will not be your ruin. Cast away from you all the transgressions which you have committed, and get yourselves a new heart and a new spirit. For why should you die, O house of Israel? For I have no pleasure in the death of one who dies," says the Lord GOD. "Therefore turn and live!"

But in order for that to happen, godless perverted liberalism must be abandoned: no homosexuality, no adultery, no fornication, no murder (otherwise called abortion), and no thievery (otherwise called wealth redistribution). Yet this is NOT what liberals will do. John 3:18-21 explains their track record:

"He who believes in Him is not condemned; but he who does not believe is condemned already, because he has not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God. And this is the condemnation, that the light has come into the world, and men loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil. For everyone practicing evil hates the light and does not come to the light, lest his deeds should be exposed. But he who does the truth comes to the light, that his deeds may be clearly seen, that they have been done in God."

Now in the end perhaps it sadly doesn't matter because everyone - even the godless liberal Democrats - will do as St. Paul describes in Romans 14:11:

For it is written: "As I live, says the LORD, Every knee shall bow to Me, And every tongue shall confess to God."

Atheists, agnostics, humanists, secularists, modernists, liberals, progressives, socialists, Marxists, communists, Nazis and Democrats will be given NO choice. All of us must bend our knees and confess with our tongues NOW in this life, repenting of our sins, and only thus will we be forgiven. If we defy, then we will bend our knees and confess with our tongues in the next life at the Judgment Seat of Jesus Christ when it is too late, and we will be thrown into the hell that we have made for ourselves to burn forever and ever where (in Jesus' own words in Mark 9:42-47) "...their worm does not die and the fire is not quenched." This is NOT what God sent His only begotten Son into the world for, but this is what WILL happen upon failure to repent.

For the sake of Jesus Christ, let us repent and convert!

Monday of the Thirty-Third Week in Ordinary Time - Year A

The infiltration and infestation of liberalism in today's society is exactly as the infiltration and infestation of pagan Greek culture was in the days of the Maccabeean brothers. And people then bought into the lie, erecting gymnasiums exactly as Fr. Lauer describes to do the kind of filth that Jerry Sandusky did. The parallel is so obvious.

As verse 158 in Psalm 119 states, "I beheld the apostates with loathing, because they kept not to your promise." However, the solution is equally obvious. That is why the story of the blind man sitting by the roadside on the way to Jericho from Luke 18:35-43 is included. We in our godless liberalism and paganism are as blind and as pitiful as that man. But unlike us, he had the presence of mind to call out, "Son of David, have pity on me!" Jesus asked him what he wanted and he replied that he wanted to receive his sight. The actual Greek word used for the phrase "receive sight" was "ἀναβλέπω" which means, "to recover (lost) sight." The "again" is the word "ἀνά" before the word "βλέπω" which means "to see."

This exchange between Jesus and the blind man signifies that our sight which we once had as a Christian United States has been lost and we need to see again. But we can't see again till we cry out in faith. What did it take for the blind man to cry out in faith? He had to sit beside the road, probably in the gutter, for years on end till the stink of his pitiful condition caused him to reach out in faith. Thus he cried out, to which Jesus responded, "Have sight; your faith has saved you." The same is true of these United States. We will have to be reduced to a pitiful rejection beside the world's roadside before we reach out in faith. Just as the Seleucids of yesteryear would have had it no other way with the Jews, so today the godless liberals of murder and sexual perversion will have it no other way. They will not give up godless homosexual filth and the infanticide of the unborn until they bring this country to the same utter ruin to which the man beside the roadway on the the path to Jericho was reduced in his blindness. And just as Antiochus IV Epiphanes was a prototype of the anti-christ who will come, so Obama, his spiritual successor, is today's trial run. Their fruits of idolatry, iniquity and sexual perversion are apparent for all to see:

Homosexual marriage
Murder of unborn babies
Undermining Christian religious freedom
Redistribution of wealth

The Answer to Crisis Pregnancy - Stop the Liberal Baboon Behavior

And the way to prevent crisis pregnancy is to stop having sexual intercourse outside of the Sacrament of Holy Matrimony: no fornication and no adultery.

But liberals, progressives, Democrats and not a few RINOs just can't seem to keep their pants zipped up and their legs crossed. Thus, in giving in to the lust of the flesh like a mindless baboon (while they hypocritically tell us that they "believe in" science and reason), they become sexual perverts. And when the consequences of their perversion are revealed in pregnancy, they become murderers. As Revelation 21:8 states:

Some people might think that I am too heartless and uncharitable in writing these words. Let those individuals then see if St. Paul was uncharitable when he wrote the following:

But with many of them God was not well pleased: for they were overthrown in the wilderness. Now these things were our examples, to the intent we should not lust after evil things, as they also lusted. Neither be ye idolaters, as were some of them; as it is written, The people sat down to eat and drink, and rose up to play. Neither let us commit fornication, as some of them committed, and fell in one day three and twenty thousand. Neither let us tempt Christ, as some of them also tempted, and were destroyed of serpents. Neither murmur ye, as some of them also murmured, and were destroyed of the destroyer. None of these things ever happened at Tea Part protests which (in contrast to the baboon protests of the OWS movement) were always carried out legally and with full respect for local law enforcement and private property. I guess that's the difference between a godless zombie socialist and a patriotic citizen.

Are You a Watcher?

Note that the Gospel reading (reprinted below) ends with the verse that states, "Where the body is, there also the vultures will gather." The Greek word translated as "vultures" is "ἀετός" which actually means "an eagle as a standard (Roman Military)." There is one other nation of world-wide power like the Imperium Romanum that uses the eagle as its standard, and a man of utter wickedness is currently in charge in that country. When his eagles gather over the body, then it is too late to watch. Now I don't know if all this means that the Lord will return imminently, or in 2000 years from hence, but as Father Lauer explains in his homily, Jesus did tell His disciples while He was in the Garden of Gethsemane before the Roman guard came with their Aquila or Eagle standard (SPQR or Senatus Populusque Romae), "What, could ye not watch with me one hour?" (Matthew 26:40).

Jesus said to his disciples:
"As it was in the days of Noah,
so it will be in the days of the Son of Man;
they were eating and drinking,
marrying and giving in marriage up to the day
that Noah entered the ark,
and the flood came and destroyed them all.
Similarly, as it was in the days of Lot:
they were eating, drinking, buying,
selling, planting, building;
on the day when Lot left Sodom,
fire and brimstone rained from the sky to destroy them all.
So it will be on the day the Son of Man is revealed.
On that day, someone who is on the housetop
and whose belongings are in the house
must not go down to get them,
and likewise one in the field

George W. Bush on Veterans' Day

Here we have a real man, a real President, not that uppity reprobate currently "occupying" the Oval Office. Notice he doesn't go golfing with rich liberal elitists. Look closely.

We are grateful for the sacrifices they make to keep us safe and defend our freedom. And on Veterans Day, we pause to express our respect and appreciation to these great patriots.

In this time of unrest from cry-baby OWS fleabaggers and liberalism gone amuk, let us remember the real heroes of this republic - those who gave their sweat, their blood, their very lives for our freedom. Let us be admonished that that freedom which has been bought with such a high price is NOT license to wallow in filth like a baboon, but a sacred trust to ever do what is right, moral and virtuous no matter what the cost. My sister exemplifies this: after 20 plus years in the service, having been a Naval hospital corpsman, she retired and is now doing in a nursing home on a daily basis what the fleabaggers in the Occupy Wall Street movement are incapable of doing even given a year's worth of time. That's freedom. That's responsibilty. That's morality, integrity and virtue. That's being a real American, not some worthless socialist complainer.

Some people say-I've heard talk-that married men should not go (to war). Because of their families. But this involves contradiction, a fatal one. The family man dare not hang back and expect the bachelor to do his fighting for im. It is manifestly unfair for me to expect a bachelor to die for my children if I am unwilling to die for them myself. Enough of that attitude on the part of married men and the bachelor will refuse to fight if the married man stays safe at home...and the republic is doomed. The barbarian will walk in unopposed.
